How a round works

Pick the difficulty before starting: Easy (50% risk per lane, 1.04x multiplier per safe crossing), Medium (1/3 risk, 1.50x), Hard (1/5 risk, 2.5x), Hardcore (1/10 risk, 5x). Tap to cross the next lane; if no traffic, multiplier ticks up. Tap Cash Out any time to lock the current multiplier. Hit traffic and the round ends.

Difficulty trade-offs

Easy mode is forgiving — you can usually cross 5-8 lanes for a 1.2x-1.4x cash-out. Hardcore is the long-shot — most rounds end on the first lane, but the rare 3-lane crossing pays 125x. The math is symmetric across modes (RTP ~97%); the variance is what changes. Easy mode for slow sessions, Hardcore for short adrenaline.

When to cash out

The single most useful rule: cash out the first time the multiplier doubles your stake. In Medium mode that's after the second safe lane (1.5 × 1.5 = 2.25x). The expected value of "one more lane" gradually flips negative because the risk-per-lane stays constant but each crossing risks the accumulated multiplier rather than the original stake. Double-and-out keeps variance bounded.

Provably fair lanes

The traffic pattern for each round is determined by a server-seed-hash + client-seed pair. After the round, the unsigned server seed is revealed so the lane outcomes can be reproduced. Round history (last 100) is kept in-app.

Bets and payouts

• Minimum bet ₹20, maximum ₹50,000 per round.

Difficulty levels and what they actually pay

Chicken Road's difficulty slider sets the risk-per-lane and multiplier-per-lane. Easy: 50% risk per lane, 1.04x multiplier per safe crossing — long sessions, small wins. Medium: 1/3 risk, 1.50x multiplier — recommended starter. Hard: 1/5 risk, 2.5x multiplier — high variance. Hardcore: 1/10 risk, 5x multiplier — most rounds end on lane 1.

The math: all four difficulties produce the same long-run 97% RTP. What changes is variance. Easy gives you 5-8 safe lanes per typical round; Hardcore gives you 0 safe lanes 90% of the time, with rare 3-4 lane rounds paying 125x-625x. Pick by emotional comfort with variance, not by perceived payout — the RTP is identical.

When to cash out — the double-and-out rule

Same principle as Mines: cash out the first time the accumulated multiplier doubles your stake. At Medium difficulty, that's after the second safe lane (1.5 × 1.5 = 2.25x). At Hard, after the first lane. At Easy, after lane 18 (1.04^18 ≈ 2.03x).

The math why: each additional lane risks the accumulated multiplier, not the original stake. Conditional probability of bust on the next lane stays constant, but the absolute amount at risk grows with each crossing. Doubling and walking away keeps variance bounded; staying for "one more lane" gradually flips expected value negative as the absolute stake grows.

The hardest part of Chicken Road is leaving the round at 2x. Cash-out feels small at 2x — you crossed two lanes, multiplier reads 2.25x, the visual is unsatisfying. But over 50 rounds, the consistent double-and-out earns more than chasing 10x runs. Boring discipline; reliable profit.

Common mistakes at Chicken Road

Three patterns cost most. First, escalating to Hardcore after a Medium-difficulty winning streak. "I'm in the zone, let me push it." The Hardcore difficulty doesn't reward skill or hot streaks; it rewards luck within a 10% survival window. Hot streaks at Medium do not transfer to Hardcore.

Second, holding past 4-5 lanes "just to see what happens." The conditional bust probability per lane is constant; the longer you stay, the more likely you bust before the next safe crossing. Holding past your pre-decided cash-out target burns the gain you've already built.

Third, alternating difficulties mid-session. Each difficulty has its own variance feel; switching between them within a session means you never settle into the rhythm of either. Pick one difficulty per session, play 30-50 rounds at that difficulty, then evaluate. Don't mid-session hop expecting that the "next difficulty" will work better.
